The sad and shocking news that has sent shock-waves around the world: Loveable couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are separated! One of the most famous and envied Hollywood couples has split up after what seemed like a glorious 12 years, as explained in the American website TMZ. The actress has asked for a divorce under the pretext of “irreconcilable differences” and further requests the custody of their six children together.
They met on the set of the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and after 10 years of the relationship, Angelina said “yes I do” in August 2014 and so decided to cement their relationship. Both are parents of Maddox (15), Pax (12), Zahara (11), Shiloh (10) and Vivienne and Knox (8) twins. Now, two years later, they have decided to be separate ways.
Their prenuptial contract includes a clause which states that all children will stay with Angelina in the event that Brad will be unfaithful and also stipulated that if the time came for divorce, their sizeable fortune would be split equally between the two.
The documents presented by the former Tomb Raider star, shows that the official separation occurred on September 15, 2016, although rumors of divorce have been following the couple since January of this year. The online publication states that Angelina Jolie will grant Brad Pitt the opportunity to visit their children.
The separation of the so-called “Brangelina” has just begun and will certainly dominate the headlines for weeks to come.
