El Chicó Museum , a magnificent example of rural architecture of the 18th century, was part of the El Chicó hacienda and was donated by Mrs. Mercedes Sierra de Pérez to the Society for Improvements and Ornament of Bogotá . The walled construction that stands on the seventh avenue and the valuable collection of works of art and antiques from different historical periods, particularly from the 18th and 19th centuries, are well known. Its spacious halls house oil paintings, sculptures in polychrome and gilt wood, miniatures, furniture, crystals from Bohemia, Venice and Baccarat, mirrors, Dutch ceramics, furnishings and utensils.
It has rooms for social events such as weddings and private receptions, among others, a beautiful chapel for religious ceremonies. It has a playground, large gardens and pine and cypress trees ideal for a country wedding in the heart of Bogotá . Numerous native species have recently been planted, such as walnut trees, oak trees, savannah acacias and Quindío wax palms, making this place an oasis in the heart of the capital.
In this place, my future husband asked me to be boyfriends. I think it's the perfect place to get married.
A very nice place with beautiful gardens. The salons very well maintained and equipped with the necessary.
We rent the chapel and the only thing we would note is that the museum provides a TV so that people who can not get inside can see the ceremony.
