Weddings for most couples do not just last a day, but become life long memories that will forever be treasured. It is a day where both individuals lovingly accept each other by completing vows. This was the case for both Jyotipriya and Nishant – one of our favourite weddings! All captured by Plush Affairs, Jyotipriya and Nishant are able to relive all the magical moments thanks to such a great photography team, who understands that “pictures are the best way to relive your golden memories!”
Meet The Couple
Jyotpriya is a dentist but she is currently pursuing her passion – modelling, in New Delhi. Nishant is a senior manager of corporate sales for Carlson Wagonlit Travels, India. The smitten couple believe their fate was planned and that they were destined to meet some day. It was pure coincidence when Jyotpriya met Nishant for the first time; she bumped into an old friend from college outside a café in New Delhi and that’s when she was introduced to Nishant. Their first meeting lasted for hours! Soon they became friends, started dating and A spark between them ignited in short space of time and now they are happily married!
So, Who Proposed?
Breaking customs, Jyotpriya proposed to her best friend Nashant first. Their relationship has allowed them to become so relaxed around each other that there were no expectations, it was simply an expression of love. You must be thinking, ‘strange’ right?, but no, in fact they “could not have imagined it any other way”. This heartfelt proposal took place at a bonfire where “sparks where flying” both literally and metaphorically – what a perfect location for the proposal, right? it was an intimate gathering with all their friends and family around, just how she planned it!. Jyotpriya was overjoyed and felt like she was on top of the world. To ensure he was not outdone by his lady in waiting, Nishant too went and surprised Jyotpriya by also proposing, in yet again, another intimate moment; going down on one knee with a rose in his hand.
Engagement
This memorable occasion took place at the Sylvan Chef in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi where they exchanged the rings and promised to be there in every situation no matter how good or how bad. The highlight Jyotpriya said would have had to be “the incredible dance from the groom’s side which was kept a surprise until the last minute.”
Dolled up
Jyotpriya an expert in every task, did her make-up by herself for the Sangeet with the help from a friend. She then left it to the professionals – Savleen Manchanda, who is one of the top make-up stylists in India to do her bridal makeup. Jyotpriya was overjoyed with her makeup look and commends Savleen for doing a “remarkable job”.
Outfit Choice
Both Jyotpriyas’ sangeet and engagement outfit were designed by her dear friend and internationally acclaimed designer Alpana Mittal of ‘Alpana Neeraj’. Her request was to have a Rajasthani touch to the outfit since Jyotpriya was marrying into a Rajasthani family. Her Engagement outfit was a high-waisted, stone-studded, deep blue skirt, with a blouse of the same colour, that had a sheer neckline and sleeves studded with stones. She teamed it all with a sky-blue dupatta!. The wedding outfit uniquely designed was from Froniter Raas; a red lehenga with peacock motifs and a heavily embroidered choli teamed with two net duppatas of the same colour.
The Groom’s outfit was self designed; a charcoal grey three piece suit in self checks with a hint of red, on the lapel pin, paired with tan coloured shoes from Dunes London and a bow tie. On the wedding day Nishant wore a tailormade black sherwani with zari embroidery, golden pyjamas, red silk turban and golden Punjabi jootis.
Venue Choice
The perfect choice of venue gives a fabulous touch to your wedding event and this is something the couple definetly understood. Jyotpriya and Nishant got married at ‘The Eden Grand’- a farmhouse in Faridabad, amongst friends and family. It was a February wedding so it was perfect for an outdoor ceremony, which is why the couple opted for an open venue.
Let’s Dance
Jyotpriya decided to have her sangeet ceremony in her hometown. The décor had been beautifully arranged with the seating decorated with ‘dulhainya’ written all over it, in marigold flowers. The highlight of the sangeet was the continuous dance to the beats of the dhol that went on for over 2 hours. After all it is this enthusiasm that the Punjabis are known for! From ‘gidda’ to ‘jaggo’, sisters in beautiful Patiala suits, and brothers handsomely dressed in kurta pyjamas, with turbans on their heads – this affair showcased every flavor of Punjab. Another major highlight was the groom’s entry into the bride’s sangeet ceremony. This was a surprise for Jyotpriya, she was overwhelmed with happiness.
Memorable Moments
Girls share a special bond with their brothers, irrespective of their age. She can count on him to always be there for her, being the greatest support, and best friend who keeps all her secrets. The bond between a sister and a brother is definitely a precious one. One of the most memorable moments of Jyotpriya was her entry on the wedding day where her brother surprised her with the idea of entering on the bike sitting behind him.
Beautifully captured
Finding photographers was the most tedious thing to do. Jyotpriya and Nishant knew that they needed somebody who was not only good at their job but was also met their budget requirements and was cooperative. They therefore decided to pick Plush Affairs. Jyotpriya was made aware of Plush Affairs through her sister in law and fell in love with their work immediately. And the results were amazing, as we can all see through their beautiful photographs!
The beautiful couple Jyotpriya and Nishant agree that “the simpler , the better” and believe that “at the end of the day, it’s about the two of you , not the world”. This couple shared their beautiful wedding moments with us and we want to wish them the very best for a glorious life.
