Traditional South Indian Wedding with a Goan twist

Tanisha and Anant- One of our favourite weddings of august 2017!. Captured wonderfully by Pixelstory.in.

  • Real weddings
  • Bridal couple
Traditional with a modern mix – the wedding of Anant and Tanisha, a couple from south India actually took place in the exclusive resorts of Goa. The wedding was in fact planned by the bride while sitting millions of miles away in Canada (Calgary), and has been captured perfectly by Pixelstory.in. The couple personalised their wedding with their very own #hastags which became popular amongst all friends and family members – #WifeofPai in particular, as Pai is the grooms’ surname. The mastermind behind this hashtag is Tanisha, who is now officially, the wife of Pai!

The Couple

Advertising

Anant and Tanisha first met on a cold December morning at the Paris airport in 2014 – and now remember it as “the start of the best 10 Day of their lives”. Tanisha says “I remember getting on the flight to Paris and thinking – “Wow Tanisha, this is probably going to turn out to be the best decision you ever made or the worst one you ever made”. Having once thought that, Tanisha knows for sure, that it was in fact the “best decision made”. Their meeting in Paris seemed almost unreal as it went against everything logical in life. Tanisha notes that she will never forget how “A recommendation from a common family friend to both their dads resulted in Anants dad endlessly nagging him to email me”. Upon receiving the email, Tanisha emailed back, and thus begun the start of their blooming love story. Emails exchanged, turned into endless phone calls and hours of Skype, which resulted in finally meeting in Paris about 2 months after that first email.

Well Captured

Finding the right photographer can be difficult, particularly when you have certain expectations in mind, it is your special day and you need to rely on someone to capture all the right moments, at the right time. This couple were lucky enough to use Pixelstory.in and were very “happy with the results”. Particularly the photographers effort in going that extra mile and dedicating a live edit to the couple at the reception. This live edit now has 4778 views on Vimeo and is filled with so many complements from all viewers!

The Venue

The wedding venue is essentially what creates the ambience of the ceremony, so it is important to select a favourite venue of your choice! Tanisha and Anant opted for the The Holiday Inn Resort and were very pleased with the results. The venue and the food really made their celebration more lively and for that they are very thankful.

Makeup

Tanisha’s makeup artist was recommended by Wendall Rodrick whom she was really pleased with. Her MUA? used airbrush makeup on Tanisha, a new application method, one that Tanisha highly recommends, noting It was “lightweight, sweat proof and totally worth the price”. Her hair, on the other hand, was done by a family friend who both coloured and did a trial 6 months before to ensure he achieved the right look.

Outfits

Girls are known to love designer Lehenga’s and the full works, but Tanisha did not want to splurge on every outfit, instead she wanted to be practical whilst finding her dream outfit. Sp, she decided to splurge on her wedding Kanjivarams and the Reception outfit – A saree gown by Tarun Tahiliani with classic Black Louboutins. She was really pleased with her sangeet lehenga, which was bought from a random store and fitted by a designer. It also went perfectly with their ‘Sky Full of Stars” themed Sangeet.
For Bridesmaids outfits, Tanisha’s  mum got a lot of credit for, as she  helped her pick the right Saree that coordinated very well will all the other girls. Each one wore a different coloured blouse and rocked it!

Invites

The open invite with no envelopes. The couple opted for a hexagon-like shaped card that folded in itself and was sealed with gold wax seal. It was hard work but totally worth it. The mastermind behind the design and concept was Shreena Doshi(a very special friend of couple) and the team at ‘All That Jazz‘ from Mumbai.

Decor

The beautiful pathway decor leading upto the beach Mandap was designed to the couple, who made up quotes that made the pathway decor. They were cute, funny and gave an insight to their relationship that everyone laughed about. The pandit was definitely a “highlight of the ceremony”. He had beautifully crafted English explanations to some of the main parts of the ceremony. It was great for all their friends who were there from other parts of the world and also everyone who was there from India – it was very much appreciated!
