Strike a pose! Create a lifetime of memories on your pre-wedding photoshoot

Work it, work it, work it ladies (and gentleman) – not everyday is it that you have a photoshoot, unless of course you are Deepika Padukone or Kareena Kapoor, the socialites of this era. Awake your inner goddess and ‘stunt for the gram’ as today’s youngsters would say. Your pre-wedding photoshoot is a special event and a lead up to the big finale – your wedding day. Now, the process of taking a photo is simple: smile and say cheese for the camera, however your pre-wedding photoshoot requires a lot more. There are a few simple steps we can recommend to help you achieve an affectionate, invigorating photoshoot, brace yourself ladies, let the smiling begin!

Au Natural

Firstly, Be natural and have fun! – these photos are representative of your affection and connection with each other, we all want to look good for the camera, but as you’ve heard..a picture tells 1000 words, so the last thing you want is to look forced or uncomfortable. This time is about you and your life partner embracing each other, all the perfections and imperfections and standing by their side ultimately like the royals, King and Queen, proud to be uniting. Be sure to express the passion and convey the connection. Check out Weddings by Knotty Days who are recognised for their ability to capture beautifully these intimate moments.

Confidence is key

Secondly, showcase that celebrity style confidence, give the camera all that you’ve got. Aim to tell a story, you want to entice your audience and keep them longing for more. We, here at Zankyou recommend that you do not hold back, express yourself  guys. All of the eyes are going to be on you two lovebirds so open a little window into your love lives, make it one to desire. Also take control, often during shoots, photographers can be a pain and order you to do this and do that, lovers, breathe, relax and start the shoot off with you perhaps a briefing pf how you´d like things to go. Do however expect the occasional interference, they do need to get the lighting and angles right, so let them do their thing.

Pearly whites – to show or not to show?

Thirdly, them brilliant whites or no brilliant whites? the creases that perfectly align and call for compliments like“I like your smile”is music to your ears. However, for some the question here is “to show or not to show?” It’s a pretty big decision, if we may say so ourselves, for some showing off them pearly whites is what does them justice, for others however let’s perhaps keep the display to a minimum! Instead, perhaps, Smile with your eyes, we all know that eyes smile the most. It really depends on what you are comfortable with and also what suits you. To help decide, you can look in the mirror. Now ladies (and even gents), we have all done it at some point in life, rehearsing a speech to yourself in the mirror or acting out a job interview, well, this is similar except all you have to do is smile and discover what makes you shine bright like a diamond. WeddingNama are great at advising you on what to go for!

Location

Fourthly pick the right location. The location is the second main focal point of the picture, alongside the couple. Therefore picking the perfect spot for your shoot is key to the success of an affectionate pre-wedding photo shoot. The ideal thing here is to pick a location personal to you both, now that can range from a shoot in your back garden, to the a boat trip in Venice, it is entirely up to you. You want to capture that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you’re with your partner and be able to relive the exact moment in years to come. Essentially it is all about personal preference, as mentioned earlier this is a special moment for you both as a couple and you want it to be a life long treasure, something you can relive years later. Guys you are encouraged to push the boat out and capture all amazing moments, so go forth and spread your wings people!

And hopefully they become memories perfectly captured for your grandchildren to look through to see this wonderful experience. So Lovebirds, let’s keep it PG and kid friendly, maybe keep the smooching to a minimum! If you keep these tips in mind you’ll surely have an amazing photo album to relive!
