It all started in 1945. Mr. Phanindra Bikash Roy Chowdhury, a freedom fighter, started his struggle towards establishing his dream of creating a revered brand for precious gems and jewellery. His journey was full of obstacle yet nothing could stop his indomitable spirit of honesty, patience, perseverance and zeal for perfection. He shaped M.P.Jewellers brick by brick into a most trusted brand in Eastern India. He was conferred the Ratna Samrat Award by the ‘Howrah Pandit Samaj’ for his immense contribution in Astrology and the gemstone industry. His eldest son Biplabankur held the first ever astrological conference (Jyotish Sammelan) in 1972 and followed by publishing Jyotish Mahachayan, a book which is supposedly one of the best knowledge base for astrologers, till date.
In the early nineties, M.P.Jewellers extended its product base in gold, diamond and platinum jewellery. The company soon became a household name and in keeping with its goodwill was the first in Bengal to be awarded the BIS hallmarking license. It never rested on the laurels achieved but went on with its quest of spreading out to different corners of Eastern India and the National Capital Region. With 32 retail outlets, the brand has become a recognized regional retail chain.
A closely controlled family enterprise, older than independent India, M.P.Jewellers is backed by experienced and qualified family members, who have very ambitious plans of opening series of retail outlets all across the country and establish its pan India presence.
