Real Wedding: #VarshAnkit Tie The Knot In Mumbai

This is a true love story, they first loathed each other then fell in love. Ankita and Varsha planned their entire wedding themselves and created some really unique moments.

Ankit and Varsha met under rather strange circumstances. Ankit and his friends were nursing a hangover on Juhu beach in Mumbai when he chanced upon Varsha. Normally a shy man, he decided to try and get her attention with a joke, unfortunately for him, it didn’t go as planned. Varsha was drinking coconut water and this slightly inebriated young man cracked a wise one. Little did he know that this lady was going to give back as good as she got, especially being a food technologist. This faux pas of his turned into an argument, so much so that bystanders chimed in, eventually ending with Ankit apologising. Varsha dispersed the crowd and then they ended up having a real proper, sober conversation, the rest, as they say, is history.

They decided to get married in Mumbai as Varsha lived there and Ankit in Delhi. This location was more central for all their friends and family to get to. Once the city was decided the rest fell in to place with the bride and groom taking reigns of the wedding planning themselves.

Photographs were very important to this couple and they wanted all aspects covered. They used different photographers for different occasions: For the pre-wedding, wedding and after-party they worked with Beaux Arts, a wedding photography and cinematography agency based out of Allahabad. While Sawant Anup captured the bridesmaids and Deepali Suryawanshi, another professional in the business shot the mhendi.

Speaking of mehndi, here’s another interesting fact about this wedding. The bride opted for Mehendi Art Gallery, Shehnaz Zainab Kohi Mona as her henna artist but what is unusual is the design she picked. As Varsha puts it “My husband-then boyfriend-and I were in a long distance relationship for three years since I was in Mumbai. So a lot of time was spent travelling between the two cities. We decided to depict this on my hands instead of the usual traditional designs and we created a painting of our love story through my mehndi”.

This bride bought her perfect wedding outfit from Bawree Fashions and the groom found his at Manyavar. They picked Friends Florist to do their arrangements and the lucky couple ended their wedding with a honeymoon in the Maldives.

Zankyou wishes this newlywed couple all the very best!
