Fun, excitement, love, thrill, laugh, and romance; these things are always associated with the word ‘wedding’. But with this, terms like apprehension, exhaustion, and mental saturation are also integrated. A normal part and parcel of a wedding.
Hence, unwinding is always necessary. You could make it fun by practicing simple and exciting yoga asnaas with your bridesmaids that are also very effective in de-stressing your mind. We reached out to the expert ‘Meher Munjal’ of ‘Yoga Connect‘, to explain our brides and the bridesmaids the asanaas that they can perform effortlessly to unravel.
The asanas are explained by Mehar Munjal
Before starting off any yoga exercise or mediation, it is important to warm up yourself, not only physically but mentally. Here’s what Meher has to say-
Firstly, needless to say, stay hydrated and eat a healthy diet.
This helps keeping your body healthy, and face glowing till the final day.
Secondly, chant OM 3 times when you wake up and before you go to sleep.
The OM chant brings you peace of mind and helps to balance all your chakras in your body in order for you to be calm, patience and stress free.
The seven asanas are as follows-
Savasana is the “corpse pose”. All the internal mind and body distractions are minimized by practicing this. It completely relaxes the body and rejuvenates the mind to have an integration with the soul.
Sukhasana, also known as the easy pose, brings peace and tranquillity into your life. By simply chanting OM or any other mantra you connect with, in this pose, the practice helps you tackle the anxiety and stress to make you calm and composed.
The tree pose is perfect to train your body to balance and focus, which in turn, creates an equilibrium of peace and composition in your mind, and gives strength to your body. This posture is a great way to slow down when life is getting too fast.
4. EAGLE POSE (GARUDASANA)
The eagle pose balances, strengthens and makes the body flexible. You surely needs to twist your body that surprisingly unwinds you, and you feel totally free and comforted.
5. NATRAJASANA (DANCER POSE)
A great combination of strength, flexibility, balance and meditation.
6. TRIKONASANA (TRIANGLE POSE)
This pose helps you release stress and quenches triggers in the mind through the loosening of the hip’s muscles. Mostly, the stresses are released with hip opening postures like the triangle pose. It targets the areas of burden of daily stress and allows to find solace and peace.
7. KUMBHAKASANA (PLANK POSE)
This pose helps you tone the abdomen and hips (possibly, every bride’s favorite one). Kumbhaka means the holding of breath and Asana means a pose. It balances both the physical and mental strength.
