We absolutely love this real wedding: Atirek and Aastha got married in The Riverview Retreat, Corbett, a stunning forested wildlife sanctuary. The couple captured gorgeous photographs thanks to photographer Hitesh Shivnani, with hundreds of species of birds and beautiful surroundings. After this sweet emotional phase we decided to put a date 21-08-2016.
When they first met eyes
After a million experiences of failed dates, their meeting was not at any of our friend’s house or at a party but they met each other surprisingly on a matrimonial website. It sounds cliché but they just clicked.
The Proposal
In a matter of three days of telephone conversations, they both had almost made up their minds. They decided to meet on the fourth day on a venue of choice of Aastha. Despite knowing each other for just three days, the meeting never felt hesitant or uncomfortable. They met like old buddies. They chosen venue was the Rose Cafe (Saket). The serene calmness of the place did something magical to them. They hardly talked! They had talked enough in the last three days, but now it was time for them to STARE ! It was beautiful that none of them could take eyes off each other. Casually dressed, both of them were so comfortable with each other, it was perfect.
And suddenly, looking into her eyes , he held her hand and said – I Love You…. It was a wonderful moment for her . She was not expecting this but those words from his mouth made her day. Nevertheless, she promptly responded back in positive acknowledgement. Then they stayed together for almost the whole day – time didn’t matter in that moment.
The Wedding Outfit
Choosing your wedding dress is one of the most important and stressful parts of a wedding. Something that was clear in Aastha’s mind was a strict no to Red and Pink instead she wanted something different like blue. After screening through the Internet, Pinterest, Instagram, etc and physically visiting loads of stores in and around Delhi . She went back to basics Chandni Chowk!
Asiana Couture in Katra Hardyal, she was sure to get her wedding outfits done here and she didn’t have to look around anymore. It’s unbelievable!
The Makeup
Makeup is so essential for the bride on the wedding day to look more pretty and highlight herself as a bride among all the people gathered in the wedding. Atul Chauhan Makeovers from Delhi was Aastha’s makeup artist to make her feel more gorgeous on her dream day. As we all know, makeup has the power to make a bride feel radiant and confident- and makes for stunning photos too!
The Venue, Catering and Decoration
Atirek and Aastha chose the place which they found most charming and delightful for their guests. This hotel promised to bring their fairy tale wedding to life. Both Atirek and Aastha wanted an unconventional wedding, to get out of the hustle bustle and typical Punjabi wedding scenario of Delhi NCR. So they thought of destinations around Delhi which were not too far to travel and yet far enough away from city madness! So they planned their trip to Jim Corbett after their visit to places like Manesar , Jaipur ,etc and the idea seemed pretty amazing.
The reception took place at The Riverview Retreat and The Hridayesh Resort and Spa and the catering was done by themselves. As for decoration they wanted something simple and elegant, so they chose a local vendor from Kashipur.
With specific interventions and opinions from the bride and the groom, all family and friends created the wedding as planned. Everything was done as close as possible to their thoughts. It was a wedding that she dreamed of, and her husband helped towards making it come true.
The Memorable Moments :For the Bride
When the day finally came, after six months of exhausting wedding preparations, she could finally relax and enjoy herself among all the madness. During those days she didn’t get to see Atirek and talk to him properly. The most memorable moment for her was on their engagement day, when she saw him dressed in a tuxedo, looking at her, waiting for her to come closer. He didn’t loose a second, he stepped forward, held her hand and took her to the stage. They were both so elated to be seated next to each other and just couldn’t stop smiling!
For the Groom
His bride-to-be had planned some surprises for him. She made a set of six small cards with personal messages. The cards were given to him over the two days at different times. Each card was perfectly timed and every message in them was just right. His favourite was the last one which was handed over to him by her best friend right before her entrance at the wedding venue, it wrote: ” Hold Your Breath! Here Comes Your Happily Ever After ” he read that and looked up, and there she was, the most beautiful girl he ever known. The moment was truly memorable for him.
