Get decked up
As mentioned earlier, it is a day of great happiness and is believed to bring good life ahead. So, before doing anything, get dolled up. Wear the best saree that you have. Women preferably wear red color saree as red color is believed to be the denoting color of a married women. Get your jewelry polished and your nails done. Look your best and grab some amazing compliments from your husband. After all, you are doing all this for him only. Women also get their hands painted with beautiful Mehendi and get a complete bridal look.
As you have to do a fast that too without water, you need to eat a healthy diet a day before. Make it sure that you get enough nutrition in your body to work efficiently in the next day. In this fast, women do not eat and drink anything until they worship the moon. After that, their husbands feed them well with love and care and thank them for their kind efforts and unconditional care. So, do not forget to avoid water and food for the whole day.

The fast is marked to an end with the worshipping of moon that night. After which you can drink water and have your meal properly. Wait for the moon to show up, there is a certain ‘Muhurat’ according to the Hindu Mythology. You have to complete your Pooja within that time only. Ask your husband to be with you at that time.
After you are done with worshipping the moon, women are asked to touch her husband’s feet and all the other elder ladies’ feet who are present there. This is a token of respect towards your loved one and to tell them that their dignity is always maintained in your eyes.
After you are done with all the rituals, you can now eat the delicacies with your husband. Feed each other and show your love. Eat nicely as you have been on a fast all day long and drink good amount of water to prevent dehydration in your body.
